Students and entrepreneurs celebrate StartUp Lounge opening

The StartUp Lounge, City College Norwich’s ground-breaking new facility for teaching enterprise and entrepreneurship skills, was officially opened with a day-long celebration of student enterprise on Friday 3rd February.

Gazelle entrepreneurs Priya Lakhani, founder of Masala Masala and SOCO, and Ben Ramsden, founder of Pants to Poverty, alongside City College Norwich Principal Dick Palmer, joined over 100 students from City College Norwich and partner schools and colleges in a hive of enterprising activity that brought a buzz of excitement to the StartUp Lounge.

Could you be the face of Norwich Fashion Week 2012?

A modelling competition has been launched to find budding models to appear on the catwalk at the forthcoming Norwich Fashion Week (8-15th March 2012).

A series of auditions are set to be held throughout February to find a selection of models that will be responsible for wearing designs from the region’s leading designers and boutiques.

Musical theatre students’ West End master class

A group of Musical Theatre students were given a singing and acting master class this week when Olivier award-winning actor David Thaxton and fellow West End actor Nancy Sullivan visited City College Norwich.

The students had the opportunity to prepare audition pieces and gain vital direction from the two actors, who were impressed with the work the students had done throughout the day. Their audition pieces will help them to progress on to drama school, university or start their careers in the arts.
