A charity catwalk show organised entirely by students on the Creative and Media Advanced Diploma at City College Norwich has raised over £200 for Comic Relief.

The event at The Garage in Norwich treated the audience to a vibrant evening of fashion, dance and music.  The show was organised by students Nisha Ellis, Tuesdy George, Natasha Torbati, Camilla Bell and Laura Parker, and was assessed as part of their Diploma course.

The School of Hair and Beauty Therapy Industries were delighted to welcome and learn from industry expert Gill Morris, a founding and current director of Habia, the standard setting body for the hair, beauty, nails and spa industries.

Solutions, City College Norwich’s hairdressing and beauty therapy salons, have met the required standards in order to achieve recognition in both the Good Salon Guide and the Good Training Guide.  These key professional benchmarks will further enhance the salons’ reputation for offering first class hairdressing and beauty treatments to the public, and as an excellent place in which to train.

Hairdressing students from City College Norwich became the teachers this week when they taught local primary school pupils some of the basics of hairdressing.  The students were imparting their skills to a group of 9 and 10 year olds from Catton Grove Primary School as they prepare for the “Haircuts by Children” event, part of this year’s Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
