Automated External Defibrillation Certificate

Summary: 

Around 270,000 people suffer a heart attack in the UK each year, about a third of whom die before reaching hospital due to cardiac arrest.  CPR can double a person's chances of survival and having a defibrillator close to hand can further increase their chances by more than a third.  The course is for people who have a current First Aid at Work Certificate.

½ Day (3 Hours)
Entry Requirements: 

Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate (EFAW), First Aid at Work Certificate (FAW)

Core Skills: 

This qualification covers the following topics:

  • Undertaking a primary survey
  • When and how to call for help
  • Management of an unconscious casualty
  • Management of an casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Safe use of an Automated external Defibrillator
