If you would like a career in the Travel and Tourism Industry this programme could be for you. It will give you essential skills for employment in this area of work, educational experience and the change to study for more qualifications later. You will also explore the kings of job opportunities available, and look at how the Travel and Tourism industries are organised and run.
Your teachers will be experienced and enthusiastic and will be keen to help you develop to your full potential.
Visiting speakers and outside visits may also be arranged as a way of increasing your knowledge and experience of the industry.
You do not need formal qualifications but you will need to demonstrate a positive attitude to learning, motivation and enthusiasm. We will invite you for an interview to make sure that this is the right programme for you before offering you a place.
You will work towards completing the various units through a mix of internal and external assignments, practical activities and group work - all designed to reflect the real business world.
You can use this course as a stepping stone up to the next level of qualification in Travel and Tourism, such as the BTEC First Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
You may decide to use the qualification to start your career in the Travel and Tourism industries at a trainee level. Career opportunities include Travel Consultant, Customer Service Assistant or Tourist Information Assistant.
The programme is made up of 11 different units; 7 mandatory units worth 11 credits and 7 optional units worth 26 credits. The units will provide a general foundation of the Travel and Tourism industry and introduce you to particular topics such as the role of overseas resort representative in more depth.

15 Preparing for employment in Travel and Tourism 6 Credits
You will also complete a City and Guilds Certificate in Personal and Social Development. You will complete the following units:

You can study either at Entry 3 or Level 1 in Maths, English and ICT
