BTEC HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (Part Time)

Summary:

This course is designed for Mechanical Engineering Technicians currently working in Engineering or Maintenance.  It extends the knowledge of those who have achieved a Level 3 Engineering qualification (e.g. a National Certificate).  It could be used as an intermediate step towards an Engineering Degree course.

The HND qualifications offered from September 2011 are new versions, introduced by BTEC. As a result it anyone wanting to accredit prior learning is advised to discuss this at interview. One of the advantages of the new qualification is that it can be achieved in two years instead of the three years by delivering more units each year. 16 Units are required to achieve a HND qualification under both the old and new versions of the HND.
