This is the first level of 2 levels available and a qualification in its own right.
They are suitable for anyone looking for a qualification as the starting point for a career in book-keeping and accounts.
This course runs termly (3 times a year) and is ideal if you are looking for a first qualification in book-keeping and accounts. The exam may be taken as a single subject or as a foundation for you to progress further in book-keeping.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
Once complete, you can progress to the C & G Award in Book-keeping and Accounts Level 2
At Level 1 the aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with an introduction to book-keeping practices and to process source documents that underpin accurate record keeping.
Areas covered at Level 1 include:
• The completion of financial documents such as invoices and credit notes
• The recording of cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
• Preparing bank reconciliation
• Understanding the petty cash imprest systems and trial balances.
