Costs:

Full-time higher education students at City College Norwich currently pay a tuition fee of approximately £3290 per annum (20010/11 fees). However, the good news is that tuition fees for UK and eligible EU students no longer need to be paid before or during the period of study but can be deferred until after graduation, like your student loan.

In addition, tuition fees only become payable when you are earning in excess of £15000 per year. Instead of paying up front, you will be able to take out a deferred loan from the Student Loan Company which will be paid direct to the
college on your behalf. Repayment of deferred loans will be made automatically via the tax system. Full details of the scheme are available from your local Education Authority.

For more information about tuition, registration and exam fees, and help available, please ask for our separate leaflet "Fee Information and Methods of Payment" and "Full-time Higher Education Financial Support". Both are available from the college Registry on (01603) 773488, or the Information Centre, (01603) 773773.

Other expenses you will need to take into account include providing your own books and stationery.

Bursary Scheme (may be subject to change)
City College Norwich currently provides new full-time first year students with a non-means tested, non-repayable bursary of £1000 paid in two instalments. Two further instalments totalling £900 will be awarded during the second year and, similarly, two further instalments totalling £800 in Year 3. Bursaries are dependent on satisfactory academic achievement and progression and can be used to pay off all, or part, of your tuition fees if required. Please see the leaflet "Full-time Higher Education Financial Support" for more information and for terms and conditions.

Access to Learning Fund
The college has a hardship fund from which we can provide discretionary support to students facing financial difficulties. You must have taken out the full Student Loan you are eligible for before you can be considered for assistance.
