Blogging from @MADEfestival in Sheffield

So, we made a 4 hour journey, and some of us started working at 3.30 am, but we're here. @MADEfestival in Sheffiled, the Enterprise and Entrepreneur Festival for 2011. It's a cavalcade of the famous - and occasionaly rich (or super-rich as I notice Peter Jones strolling past) and the influential. Our students just had a chat with Vince Cable - well, more of a word than a chat - but he's a busy man and everyone wants to talk to him.

Peter Jones was inspiring in his keynote address, "be a sponge", "go with your dreams", "Entrepreneurship is the new rock n roll" ... the last comment was great, but, just a thought; are programmes like Dragons' Den turning us onto entrepreneurship in the same way that XFactor makes everyone want to be stars?

I'm happy to say that our Peter Jones Enerprise Academy students that are here are truly industrious - as well as being enterprising and entrepreneurial. They've used the festival as an opportunity to really expand their networking skills - and pick up some great contacts and great advice along the way!

Will report more later.
