It was an early start to the day from St Andrews' House, but everyone showed up on time and relatively upbeat. No disasters on the way there and with our safe arrival at Mecure Hotel in Sheffield, the students started working on the networking skills - meeting a few new faces (some famous) and collecting a great deal of business cards!
After a quick lunch, the students met with the man himself, Peter Jones. Following their quick chat, the students joined others for Peter's seminar who, alongside young entrepreneurs, discussed the types of problems business start-ups face today, where hopefully they picked up some good tips and advice for their own upcoming ventures.
They're now currently taking part in the Virgin Media Pioneers event, hosted by Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Businss, Innovation and Skills. They were given practical help and guidance with future start ups.
If I was being competitve, our students shone in terms of networking, meeting and greeting and generally being brilliant. Well done to all!
