A series of short films by Foundation Degree Media (Moving Image) students will be on show at Fusion, in the Forum, for two weeks from Monday 2nd August. The films showcase young people in Norfolk taking part in the Sport Unlimited programme during 2009-2010.
Sport Unlimited is an initiative funded through Sport England designed to give young people the opportunity to try a wide range of sporting activities. The films capture some of the activities that were enjoyed by over 9,500 local youngsters, including Archery, Dodgeball, Ultimate Frisbee and even Kite Surfing!
The FdA Media (Moving Image) students were given a brief by Active Norfolk to produce the Sport Unlimited film, which tied in with their modules on Work Based Learning and Television Studio Production. Through this project the students were able to develop communication and problem-solving skills, as well as important media production skills in filming (including underwater camera work), interviewing and editing techniques. The students received praise from the Sport Industry Research Centre for the film.
Sport Unlimited on Film will be screened in Fusion in the Forum, Norwich, from Monday 2nd August to Saturday 14th August 2010 (daily, except Sundays, 10am – 5pm). Admission is free.
