Elliot Page:
Foundation Degree Media Production at City College Norwich

Why did you choose this particular course?
For me it was a natural progression, my tutor advised that I go for an interview for the Foundation Degree and I haven’t looked back since.

What is a typical week for you at the moment?
My typical week consists of two and a half days of lessons a week, where we mostly spend time discussing media technique in a specific industry, so we may watch a lot of TV just to analyse. We also do a lot of production work, such as developing animation or working in TV studios.

What skills do you think you’ve developed on the course?
I’ve developed a broad skill set on the course, and a drive to create my own business.

What you like about the course and the College? What do you find challenging?
I like being in the college environment, although you could argue you were missing out on the ‘university lifestyle’ the fact is I’m spending a third overall, in both tuition and living costs, of what it would cost to go to university, and I still get to have a great social life with a wide group of people.
