Jewellery making does not need to be restricted to precious metals; items can be made from a variety of media to create your own individual designs. Step by step guidance will show you how to use a variety of resources and materials, to produce one-off creative pieces of jewellery.
This is a ‘hands on’ course, conducted in a relaxed and informal environment.
At the end of the course, students will have experimented with basic metalwork techniques including soldering, piercing and filing, as well as explored a range of other media and materials including paper, textiles and casting techniques to create jewellery.
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with each method, enabling them to continue at home if they wish - students may even have the opportunity to sell their Contemporary Jewellery at the college retail outlet Ego, in Chapelfield Shopping Mall, Norwich
The course is suitable for both the beginner and those who have already had some craft experience and is designed for those over 16 years of age.
The course starts on the first of February 2012 and runs for seven weeks between 6.30pm and 8.30pm - there are no entry requirements, you just need to be keen to create unique pieces of contemporary jewellery ... and there's no tests and no exams - just come along, join in and let your creativity flow.
Course fees: £40 for the complete course.
