The popular Junior Academy programme for budding young chefs aged 10 to 15 returns this January to City College Norwich’s Hotel School.
The new 10-week Saturday morning programme is ideal for youngsters who want to learn to cook and bake with imagination and style.
The Junior Academy provides expert catering tuition in the professional environment of the College’s industry-standard training kitchens, guided by experienced chefs from the College’s renowned Hotel School.
There are courses for Junior Chefs (ages 10 to 12) and Teen Chefs (13 to 15 year olds), each providing opportunities for participants to learn how to prepare, cook and present a wide range of dishes, helping the young chefs to develop new skills and presentation styles.
The course has been designed to develop the skills and interest of those who wish to learn how to cook with confidence and style and is open to any young person aged 10 to 15 with an interest in cooking.
The Junior Academy will run on a Saturday mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm for 10 weeks, from Saturday 14th January to Saturday 24th March 2012 (with a break for half-term on Saturday 18th February).
All of the Junior Academy classes are held in the kitchens in the Cromer building of the Hotel School on City College Norwich’s main Ipswich Road campus.
The Junior Academy costs £190 for 10 weeks, inclusive of all tuition and food costs. Personalised chef whites are available to buy at £49.65.
