I am really looking fowards to the launch of our new, innovative and creative facility at City College Norwich - the StartUp Lounge. This is taking place this coming Friday at mid-day with a range of events and activities associated with enterprise taking place at the same time.
At our St Andrews House facility we will have three groups of young people - pupils from City Academy Norwich, Wayland Community High School and Aylsham High School - working with three young, self-made entrepreneurs - Jamie Dunn, Carly Ward and Norfolk's own Kieran Miles - on a range of new business start up challenges.
At our Ipswich Road site there will be a student "Market" with a range of stalls run by City College Norwich students' own businesses selling their products and services.
Within the StartUP Lounge itself there will be six teams - two from City College Norwich, two from North Herts College and two from Gateshead College - undertaking a "marketmaker" challenge (a digital enterprise challenge). Juding all of these events will be two of our national Gazelle Entrepreneurs (see www.thegazellegroup.com for more information) in Priya Lakhani (Masala Masala and SOCO) and Ben Ramsden (Pants to Poverty) and our own Chloe Smith MP.
Its going to be great fun!!!
